Kyle Trask passed for four touchdowns, two of them to Kyle Pitts, as No. 3 Florida notched a 38-24 victory over visiting South Carolina on Saturday in SEC play at Gainesville, Fla.

Trask and Pitts have teamed up for six touchdowns over the first two games for the Gators (2-0, 2-0 SEC). Trask completed 21 of 29 passes for 268 yards and an interception against the Gamecocks and also threw scoring passes to Trent Whittemore and Kadarius Toney (six receptions, 86 yards).

Trask has thrown 10 scoring passes in two games to help Florida average 44.5 points during the span.

Collin Hill was 28-of-47 passing for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Gamecocks (0-2, 0-2). Kevin Harris rushed for 100 yards and one score and also caught a touchdown pass. Shi Smith had 12 receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.

South Carolina dropped to 2-16 all-time when visiting Gainesville.

Both touchdowns from the Trask-Pitts pipeline came in the first half as the Gators led 24-14 at the break.

Both teams traveled 75 yards for touchdowns on their opening drives with Harris scoring on a 2-yard run for the Gamecocks and Dameon Pierce answering with a 2-yard run for Florida. The Gators moved ahead 14-7 when Trask connected with Pitts on an 18-yard scoring pass with six seconds left in the opening quarter.

South Carolina tied the score on Hill's 4-yard pass to Smith with 9:31 left in the half. Evan McPherson booted a 26-yard field goal to give Florida a 17-14 edge before Trask hit Pitts on a 4-yard scoring pass to make it a 10-point margin with 1:22 left.

The Gators began pulling away in the third quarter as Trask threw touchdown passes to Whittemore and Toney to push the lead to 38-14.

The first touchdown was set up when South Carolina's Deshaun Fenwick fumbled and Ventrell Miller recovered for Florida at the Gamecocks' 38-yard line. Four plays later, Trask hit Whittemore for the 4-yard scoring pass with 7:47 left.

Florida tacked another touchdown on the board just over three minutes later as Toney caught a pass near midfield and sped up the center and got through a pack of five Gamecocks around the 25 en route to the 57-yard scoring play.

The Gamecocks scored the next 10 points with Hill's 9-yard touchdown pass to Harris cutting the Gators' lead to 38-24 with 10:21 left in the game but could get no closer.
